Formula Student is one of the world’s leading student engineering competitions. It offers students a unique opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a real-world setting by designing, building, and testing their own race cars.
For Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) Formula Student is a meaningful way to engage with the next generation of engineers and to support innovative student projects.
Our on-site presence at Formula Student Germany (FSG) in 2024 provided valuable insights into the dedication and technical capabilities of participating teams. The event highlighted enthusiasm, ambition and a high level of engineering competence among students and it opened the door to deeper long-term collaboration between HMETC and Formula Student teams.
This year, HMETC is sponsoring four Formula Student Teams for the first time with financial contribution and guidance through mentorship:

With our sponsorship, we want to encourage and support the teams along the way; helping them move forward, overcome challenges, and grow in a practical, hands-on environment. All four teams bring strong energy, a clear learning mindset and are fully committed to developing their vehicles and skills.
We also value the exchange with the teams: their ideas, fresh thinking and technical creativity are inspiring and the conversations open up new viewpoints for our engineers.
Strengthening the Pathway to Future Mobility Careers
Formula Student is more than a competition. It is a learning experience that helps students build technical expertise, project management skills, and confidence.
By staying close to the teams and their work, we gain a better understanding of what future engineers care about, what motivates them, and how they approach mobility challenges. What began with our participation at FSG 2024 has grown into a lasting network that enables continuous exchange and meaningful connections over time.
A Long-Term Commitment
HMETC’s involvement in Formula Student reflects our long-term commitment to supporting education, innovation, and the next generation of engineering professionals. By contributing to this environment, we help create opportunities for students to develop their skills, gain practical experience and build professional confidence.
We look forward to continuing this journey with our partner teams and to further strengthening our support in the years ahead.
