Application documents

  • Will my application documents be treated as confidential?

    Your application documents will be treated with confidentiality. Only the responsible HR consultant and the hiring managers of the relevant department will have access to your application documents. Your application will be deleted within six months after receiving the application. You can also withdraw your application in our online application system at any time.

  • Which documents should I include in my online application to HMETC?

    Following application documents are required:

    • Motivation letter
    • Curriculum vitae (CV)
    • Certificates
    • Reference letters
    • Portfolio – required for Design positions
  • How long should my motivation letter and CV be?

    Please include in your application a brief motivation letter explaining the reasons for applying. Moreover, we recommend a well-structured CV with a maximum number of two pages.

  • Which certificates and reference letters should I include in my application?

    If you apply for a permanent position at HMETC, we kindly ask you to send us a confirmation of your Bachelor/ Master/ Diploma degree as well as your reference letters from former employers.

    If you apply for an internship, thesis or working student position at HMETC, please send us a confirmation of your highest school qualification, a complete overview of your grades, and if available a confirmation of your bachelor degree. We kindly ask you to send us your reference letters from former employers as well.

  • What format and size do my application documents need to be?

    We recommend that you to upload your application documents (motivation letter, CV, certificates and reference letters) as PDF files. The maximum file size for each document is 10 MB.

  • Can I apply for several jobs at the same time?

    We highly recommend that you only apply for the position which best fits your qualifications. In the event that you would like to apply for other positions as well, please note that we need a carefully prepared motivation letter for each additional application to see the motivation behind your application.

  • How up-to-date are the job advertisements posted on your Website?

    Our job advertisements on our website are always up-to-date. As soon as positions are filled, we will remove the corresponding job advertisements from our website.  

  • May I submit an unsolicited application?

    The jobs in our job portal reflect our current needs and are always up to date. We would recommend that you search for suitable jobs in our job portal and apply for advertised positions. If you are unable to find a suitable job at the moment, please check it on a regular basis.


  • Do I receive concrete feedback why my application was not successful?

    Due to the high number of applications we receive each day, we cannot always give concrete feedback. In all cases, you will receive a rejection e-mail.

  • How soon will I know if a hiring decision has been made?

    Please note that the hiring decision can take some time as our decisions are made carefully. If we want to hire you, the responsible HR consultant will contact you.


  • Who is HMETC looking for?

    We are always looking for motivated people who have a pro-active working style and a high passion for the automotive industry. We are mainly seeking experienced engineers and designers as well as graduates in the field of engineering or design. Moreover, we are offering internships, thesis projects (Bachelor or Master thesis) and working student positions in almost all working areas at HMETC.

  • Do I need a visa in order to work at HMETC?

    People who are from a non-European country need a visa/ permit of residence (including entitlement to take up an employment) in order to work in Germany. 


  • How can I prepare for an interview?

    Primarily we would like to get to know you better. Tell us about your professional experience and your educational background. Of course you can also ask questions that might interest you in regard to HMETC and the position you have applied for.  

  • What is the interview process?

    If your application fits the position you have applied for, you will be invited to an interview. Usually one or two interviews take place. The responsible HR consultant and the hiring managers of the relevant department will participate in the interviews.
